Alright, first post official post for forgot10borough. A lot of you guys have been asking about this blog Ive been pushing via Twitter. What better way to answer your questions than an interview. So here is me Marcus Allen, interviewing the co-founder Christian Bonoan aka Chise.

Why the name forgot10borough?

Pretty much we all know that Staten Island is dubbed the Forgotten Borough of New York City. Besides Wu-Tang who else is really recognized to come out of Staten Island? We’re often overlooked in the field of the arts, when in reality, there’s loads of talent right here in our own backyards. When this year started, one of the goals I became dedicated to, as cliché as it sounds, was to “put Staten Island back on the map.” That’s what the “10” in Forgot10borough represents, the year, or even decade that Staten Island’s creative voices become more than the subtle whispers that they currently are.

What’s the main goal for this blog?

For those of yall who didn’t know, besides being the Co-founder and head-writer of “Forgot10borough”, I’m a Hip-hop recording artist. As I stated in the question before, grind-wise, I’m really set on putting Staten Island back on the map. It’s safe to say, I’m not the only one with that goal out of the 487,407 that call this borough home. My vision of this website was based upon, how talent should never go unnoticed, and art should never be unappreciated. Forgot10borough is here to promote and advertise the work of the many up and coming artists in Staten Island. Maybe I speak for myself, but when I see someone, who shares the same compassion and love for they do, doing their thing, I get motivated and inspired. Pretty much both you (Marcus) and I have many individual goals and whatever in terms of the site, but the main one will always be promoting the talent that we have here at home.

Who's the target audience?

Honesty, the target audience of Forgot10Borough, is Staten Island the forgotten borough. We’re introducing these artists to you, and by you I mean as a whole. The success of this site and the success of the artists we promote in this site is pretty much a direct correlation to how many people read the blog and keep up with it. Not only from an artist’s standpoint, but from being a fan of music/fashion/photographer and etcetera; I honestly enjoy and appreciate art. Now coming from being an artist, there’s nothing more self-fulfilling than being recognized for the hard work you put in and talent you possess. Not any lump sum of money, or numerous show invitations. Basically if we just keep promoting our artists, the more work they’ll keep producing. So keep tuning in, and please, please, please, please!
